Party Time
Pam and I went to a party the other night.
So let’s recap real quick. Pam and I only, no kids, went to a party. And the party was at night time in that it was NOT during the day time. And there were no children whatsoeverer.
We’re all up to speed now, yes?
Because I CANNOT remember the last time Pam and I went to a party where it didn’t involve children and it was dark out. It was weird. I felt… unburdened. Young.
Anyhoo, it was a great party. Lovely people, tasty food, good music.
I took notes…
1) As you walked in, the lighting was dim… dim enough that the disco ball overhead was absolutely effective. (Because spinning balls of light traveling up and down the walls and across the ceiling are a MOOD.)
2) In the kitchen on the counter was a tray of meatballs and a tray of chicken skewers, which offered sustenance and mobility. Emphasis on mobility — you didn’t need to scout out real estate (to sit or lean) or deal with utensils. All the food was managed with sticks. Brilliant! (There were also some vegetarian dishes, but you don’t win friends with salad, so…)
3) A nearby dining table had a plate of mozzarella, tomato, and basil skewers. There was a squeeze bottle of balsamic glaze next to it. Slices of salami anchored the other side of the table…
