OMG, NYC!
Helluva day Saturday. Extraordinary. One for the record books. But I should set it up first…
We went to New York for a Bat Mitzvah of one of Pam’s best friends. (Ok, that sounds weird. The DAUGHTER of one of Pam’s best friends.) Nola was excited because OMGNYC! And Judah was excited because Kevin McCallister once got lost there. And yes, I suppose Pam and I were excited (anxious) to introduce them to the Big Apple.
We landed at LaGuardia (LGA) Friday afternoon. As a kid I remember flying to NY to see family. Not sure which airport we’d fly into, but I was always under the impression LaGuardia was a ratty old bus terminal but with planes. Nah, not the case. It’s jet set cool and clean. The rows of seating at the gates are all a modern red/charcoal color scheme. And they’re ergonomic with built-in USB ports. The stores and restaurants constitute an actual mall to satisfy all your fashionable, literary, and dietary desires.
But the real showpiece is the fountain, which rivals anything you’d see in Vegas. Yes, it has thick streams of water that shoot across its base. But it’s the seemingly endless supply of water…
