FROM YOU DAD
It is the first day of summer break. The sun is shining like a flaming ball of fire. It’s gonna be a scorcher. iPads are watched at breakfast by both Ella and Kyle. With an easily accessed electrical outlet Kyle will watch through dinner. So to break the screen grab, Kyle and I do some late morning cross guarding up at the corner. Yes, that means we patiently stand on the corner and wait in the sweltering heat with stop signs until we see someone who might need to cross the street and then we help them cross. Sure, it’s sweet, but for Kyle it’s all about the power.
Anyway, it’s not unsuccessful. Now I’m sitting on the front porch. It’s hot af and I’m sticky and I don’t want to do anything. Kyle has not picked up on my vibe, though.
“Are we going to clean the porch today,” he asks.
GAH!
Right. I promised him we’d clean the porch. It does need to be cleaned, although it’s not a disaster. Kyle LOVES to clean the front porch. Specifically he likes play with the nozzle on the hose because it’s the closest thing we have (or will ever have) to a gun. Also, he likes to work the mop because…
